Projet de l'organisation

The Association  L'Elan retrouvé ["Recovered Momentum"] was founded in 1948 by Professor Paul Sivadon, psychiatrist department head of the Center for Treatment and Social Rehabilitation at the psychiatric hospital of Ville Evrard (Seine-Saint-Denis) and Suzanne BALM , the labor advisor.

The primary goal was to fill the absence of institutions to relay long-term hospital care and the majority of people in the city.

Its statutory objective was "to promote the reintegration and rehabilitation of sick and mentally handicapped"
The Association was recognized as a public decree of 14 December 1956.

Primarily outpatient, the device of  L'Elan retrouvé is complementary to that of public psychiatry or liberal. Not sectorized, it unfolds in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine and Val de Marne.

The Association welcomes its facilities for children, adolescents and young adults with pervasive developmental disorders - and adults, psychological disorders or mental illnesses to more or less disabling. Health facilities of the Association are Espic: Private Health Facilities Collective Interest.

For this, several nursing homes were added to the health system: Services in Support of the Social Life Help Service Professional Insertion of Disabled People).

The Association sponsors two Mutual Self-Help Groups (GEM).
