The association accompanies young people of 18 years and over having a mental disability.

Organisation Project:

What us has influenced and guided in the realization of all our activities dedicated to young people with an intellectual disability and their families, lies in our conviction that human tends always to surpass themselves, wishes to be happy, and that man with a disability wants to have a normal, straight life for which we have United our efforts and found an alternative concrete for the realization of these wishes. Hence was born the Association ALTERNATIVA 2003.

Was created on the initiative of parents of children with disabilities, it is registered under number 18/PJ/08.01.2003 at the register of associations and foundations of Romania.

The mission of the Association ALTERNATIVA 2003 is to promote alternative services in the field of social inclusion of young people with an intellectual disability in respect of their individual rights, and to provide concrete services of rehabilitation, education and professionalization.

The purpose of the association is:
-the increase in the capacities of integration into society of persons with an intellectual disability
-the increase in the degree of acceptance of these people within the community.

The objectives are to fund and support welfare services, rehabilitation, education, vocational training, social assistance and specific advice for young people with intellectual disabilities as well as for their families.
